1.Definition of Information and communication technology, roles in teaching, learning and training.. 2. The treacher: Becoming a technology using teacher, preparing for instruction by planning and preparing to manage the classroom during technology enhanced learning. 3. Hardware basics - Computer system and its components, purposes of in-put, out-put devices, which ones are appropriate for use in educational settings. Purpose of storage devices, differentiate between internal and external. Give examples of those that are appropriate for educational setting. 4.. Software Basics - Characteristics and functions of operating system, application, assistive software, categories and features of software e.g. Drill and practice. Instructional games, tutorials, simulations, problem solving, reference and integrated learning system (ILS). Evaluate instructional software programme. Examine lessons that use instructional software to enhance curriculum.
